USA Embassy in Eritrea Organizes Musical Performances

Eritrea’s capital, Asmara, will host three days music performances by Joan Minor and Sulaiman Hakim, report articulates. Assisted by the country’s Commission of Sport and Culture, the jazz performances will be entertained on 20, 21 and 23 December of the current year at the renowned Asmara Opera House.
By declaring this month as the ‘month of enhancing awareness about disability,’ the American embassy in Asmara has already been engaging in organizing various webinars and other activities by aiming at strengthening educational connection in the country. And its center, the American Center, is continuing being one of the different countries cultural establishments in Eritrea, including to Alliance de Francaise of France, China’s Confucius Institute, the Indian Community School and others.
This show by the embassy of the United States of America in Eritrea will be a major performance after its March 30, 1996 art showcase which had then attracted over 24,000 people to witness the ‘Recycle, Reuse, Recreate’ environmental and artistic campaign. After the then showcase by the former United States Information Agency (USIA) in the capital, this week jazz performance will be another publicized art performance.
HorMid Media and Art Center archives testify of the 1996 Public relations Officer of the USA embassy, Christopher Data, who elaborated “Eritreans only need guidance and support for they have already the open platform in art horizon.” He made this on March 27, 1996 media address to local and international agents.
